Good Songs and Idiots

"I get a little bit angry and I know I've got to get out and cry"

An Osprey is not an Eagle, you "have a special place on the bottom of the learning curve"

Good things are coming, things are changing and I am so thankful for all the love from my family, friends and the universe...thank YOU! xo

Late Again...

Friday Fill-In's are often a Sunday review for me.  Which is fine because we don't have much of anything planned ahead....ever...and yes it stresses the Capricorn in me out...Seeing the Atlantic Pride festival was such a different experience than my Toronto viewing years ago.  While the Toronto one was bigger and grander the Halifax parade was a testament to community.  Watching the parade that was filled with so many community supporters, not just the Pride community, was a teary time.  Everyone from the police, corporate sponsors,  small businesses to the mayor was there!  I was proud to be cheering from the sidelines and dancing to Cher!

1. Life is a stage...put on a good show.

2. Shanghai is one of the best places to people watch EVER because it is absolutely beautiful and insane.

3. If I was going somewhere, the one thing I have to bring is a sense of humour.

4. I will be eating wine and sugar soaked strawberries soon enough.

5. Next year, I will be in a whole other career place.

6. I came to the East and I found it years behind, which is both good and a learning experience.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to...or reflecting upon, a weekend filled with events from the Atlantic Pride, a ferry ride to World Peace Pavilionwine and sugar soaked strawberries and grilled zucchini pizza...

Glitter and Fog

*at Rainbow Haven Beach

My life in the last few days, painting glitter nails, sharp and bright against the landscape of fog that erases the edges of my world.

Starbucks and the Ocean Fight Cabin Fever

More than a month of rain + a taste of a visit home = a pretty cabin fever'd me....The solution is a drive to Rainbow Haven Beach with some Starbucks in hand...the view, well, it was such a soupy fog that we weren't sure the ocean was beneath it.  It felt very surreal and ghostly.  The public washrooms warned of poison and the drive there was a man made one way passage built over the ocean...and yet...it helped.  It was warm and beautiful and the areas on the drive there reminded me of the adventures yet to be had!

Strangers...

*the first image I took in the lovely town of Lunenburg, NS.  The second image I adore, I have been thinking about what word/phrase to have above doorways and this, found here is perfect...

"People are strange, when they are strangers"...I've lived away so often I'm forgetting what it means to be familiar.  Yet I've been lucky enough to find many angels in my travels...

Letting It All Hang Out

O.k maybe not so much, this is more of a putting it out there deal...First of all the lovely ring above keeps popping up for me so I thought I'd better heed the call and post it.  Lovely little thing that it is...maybe just confirmation to the fairytale dinner/cocktail rings I'm going to sell!

* post script to add the fox really is popping up a lot...just finished 'The Painted Boy' by Charles De Lint and it referenced the fox as an animal person/spirit, then reading a blog I enjoy The Fox, as a book comes up...somethings up for sure...

Need a Change

In many ways I need to shake life up again.  While I'm happy about much of the stability being in the East has brought me in other ways I don't want life to become stagnant, dull, boring... Today I attended an annual memorial service for fallen officers, a good reminder that life is finite.

I think these gentlemen add a certain something to what could otherwise be an overly feminine blog...shaking it up little by little...

Seaweed Bath

* image found here

I first read about making your own seaweed bath from 'Nova Scotia Guide to Frugal Living' here.  As a fan of natural, frugal, old world beauty treatments that embraces the culture you live in (also cruelty free).  All I had to do was a quick Google search to be convinced that this was a great way to naturally detoxify.

Osprey Cam/ Ethel and Oscar

This beautiful Osprey site is so near my house.  The Osprey Cam is so amazing and I'm very happy to find the story on this!
