I Love David Duchovny

*image found here

I do.  And I'm really loving Bree Sharp, born just a few weeks before me and using phrases/lyrics like "American Heathcliff, brooding and comely"...I love a kindred spirit.

Dear Cecile

This 'Backwoods Barbie's' attitude reminds me of my fabulous mother-in-law.

City Lights

While never a city girl exactly I always lived in proximity to the bright lights of one major metropolis or another...the crackle and sparkle I miss tonight...besides Petula's hair gives me a warm and fuzzy flashback..

Mumford and Sons

Weep for yourself, my man,
You'll never be what is in your heart
Weep Little Lion Man,
You're not as brave as you were at the start
Rate yourself and rake yourself,
Take all the courage you have left
Wasted on fixing all the problems
That you made in your own head

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?
Didn't I, my...

Tremble for yourself, my man,
You know that you have seen this all before
Tremble Little Lion Man,
You'll never settle any of your scores
Your grace is wasted in your face,
Your boldness stands alone among the wreck
Now learn from your mother or else spend your days Biting your own neck

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear? (x2)

Didn't I, my dear?

Ahhhhh......

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear? (x2)

Didn't I, my dear?

Opening Ceremonies

My husband is in Red tonight.  He is part of the Canada Games Opening Ceremonies.  Being the incredible man that he is he speaker phoned me so I could hear some of the events.  Primarily The Trews singing Sing Your Heart Out and Tanya Davis reciting her moving How To Be Aone and Chantal Kreviazuk....I've seen this little province cursed recently, this little place with it's ups and downs is a part of my great Country, so in the spirit of Canada... in the Spirit of Valentines Day, Love, love for your Country, romantic love, family love, friends and family I say sing your heart out, even if you are alone because we are blessed...

It's a Hard World For Little Things

*image and shop found here
Isn't it just though.  It's hard period.  The economic climate is not throwing out dream options and sunshine to just anybody right now.  The environmental, political, spiritual and just plain every day realms haven't been looking so on track these days.  This week I watched helplessly as an officer was laid to rest, dying in another senseless act.  Countless police, their families, friends, neighbours and shocked citizens shed tears together...'Let It Be' from Across The Universe by Carol Woods and Timothy T was aptly played...

My moment of silence will always be inside of me, Godspeed Sergeant Ryan Russell.  May your death and your families sacrifice serve as a catalyst for good, for change, a wake up call for action...

Every Generation Says It But...

I grew up with the best music...

You know what?

I'm having the time of my life...not that it's a perfect ride but it's the ride that I'm on.  Recently the Black Eyed Peas have redone 'I've had the Time of my Life', but to me it falls flat, bless them for trying. The original 'time of my life' from the 'Dirty Dancing' movie encompasses all the hopes, excitement and emotion of life defining moments (check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpmILPAcRQo&NR=1&feature=fvwp, seriously check it out again).  Yes, it has the cheesiness of a piece from it's time, but this is my response to a certain negative blog/person who just sucks the joy out of living...

Need a Change

In many ways I need to shake life up again.  While I'm happy about much of the stability being in the East has brought me in other ways I don't want life to become stagnant, dull, boring... Today I attended an annual memorial service for fallen officers, a good reminder that life is finite.

I think these gentlemen add a certain something to what could otherwise be an overly feminine blog...shaking it up little by little...

Grown up Crushes, Men and Music

While talking to a young friend lately about her growing disenchantment with the 'Bieb' I was reminded of some of my past music/actor crushes...and shuddered accordingly...One of the great things about getting older is that my taste has improved! Michael Buble you can do no wrong link to Everything video , I just haven't met you yet, or his more recent commentary Hollywood.

Loving you tonight...Andrew Allen

My love sent me this song saying that it made him think of me...I would think he meant the spirit of it only since he is a police officer.

More East Coast Love

Well sometimes it's hard to be in the East as a detested 'Upper Canadian'...seriously, that term is still used :)  But the Stanfields make me laugh and laugh, The Dirtiest Drunk is just too, too much

Living in the East...

I'm being introduced to new music here, this is not a solely Top 40 province...The Trews are huge here but this song is Canada.
