Faerie Berries and Thoughtful Fill-Ins

I haven't done Friday Fill-Ins in a long time.  Today is not Friday.  This week the format was different..."Where Are You From"  

I am from a cottage on a dirt road, patio lanterns, from Duncan Hines Princess cakes and Judy Blume.


I am from a home that grew a porch around a tree, shag rugs and golden drapes.
I am from the blackberry bushes, violets on the lawn and tart rhubarb dipped in white sugar,
the ever hopeful maple saplings, trillium forests, towering trees.


I am from Christmas Eve's that worked and a family that broke, from a Nana and Mama and Willison, Kirkpatrick, O'Neil, Esten and Wismer.
I am from the sad and creative.
From goldfish that become carp and "right things" without reward.
I am from a Christian home. A faith that that grew, stretched and evolved.
I'm from Canada, Kraft Dinner and scotch.
From the little girl raised by maids, the feisty farm girl who dashed to the city lights and the ones who isolate themselves literally and figuratively.  
I am from fancy silver sold for a dime, farmland scorned and fresh starts.

1. In the near darkness I dream of glitter and other realms.

2. No more desserts til further notice.

3. But this is o.k, really, it all is.

4. There's potential gold in the stream. 

5. It's always nice to see my husband.

6. My life is a waste without pretty things and pleasant company coming home soon ;).

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to being done errands, eating pizza and spending an hour with the fam., tomorrow my plans include making a limeade necklace, cooking and loving and Sunday, I want to fit in all the little visits!

Friday Fill In's

1. Why does it seem everything is in slow motion these days, like life is pushing through muck.

2. Spring is equal to Fall for my feelings of anticipation.

3. My favorite breakfast includes tea, thin toast with fried eggs and fresh pressed garlic!.

4. The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder was the last book I read on my Kindle. 

5. I am SO glad for my kick at the can.

6. Some answers and resolutions would make me feel better right now.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to some family t.v. before an early bedtime, tomorrow my plans include a family day and a visit to my fab Chiro and Sunday, I want to be surprised, in a good way!

1. I love to go to the Airport because both the arrivals and departures make me teary with the potential stories of others.

2. Guiness, fine cheeses, local fruit, it’s the quality and yes, sometimes it really is the finer things in life...!

3. The last thing I had to eat was pasta with a blush sauce.

4. Balancing more than one 'love' is no longer essential.

5. Please take a moment to pray for Japan and humanity as a whole....

6. Years, months, weeks, hours, minutes and seconds have brought you this far.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a fresh hair colour, tomorrow my plans include feeling Spring and Sunday, I want to smell bar b ques!

3. Coats and scarves, mittens and boots: are best in children's stories, but suck in real life as they denote that it is awfully cold out there

5. I'm thinking about a new part time gig, an Etsy shop, making new local friends, Spring and a dreamy sleep.

Friday Fill Ins...On Time!

1. So many of us are living in a haze.

1. Right now I need to take the next leap into my new future

4. Homemade egg fried rice is best with a spoon.

5. The best movie I've seen lately is A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey (the only movie I've watched lately).
