Posey Rings historically were promise rings, with the promise inscripted on the ring. As a word lover myself I thought this was a fabulous idea and may incorporate it as my actual wedding band. As Latin is the root of English I thought 'something old' would be appropriate and these are some of the ideas I've been tossing around. (picture courtesty of http://www.jewelerymaster.com/)
Terra firma" (Solid ground) as in build your house upon solid ground an old proverb.
Mellita, domi adsum. (Honey, I'm home.)
Omnia mutantur, nos et mutamur in illis" (All things are changing, and we are changing with them)
Alea iacta est. The die has been cast. (Caesar as he was crossing the Rubicon river )
Alter ego." ("Other 'I'" or "Other Self")
coitus non circum." (No Fucking around) Makes me giggle.
"Per aspera ad astra" (through the thorns to the stars)
"Dona Nobis Pacem" (Grant us peace)
Semper Fidelis" (Always Faithful (Motto of the US Marine Corps) Nice, but as a non-American...
"Si Non Oscillas Noli Tintinnare" (If you don't swing, don't ring (Plaque on the Playboy mansion in Chicago.) Can you just imagine this on a wedding band! lol
"Vita luna" (crazy life)
"Amo, amas." (I love a lass.)
"Carpe noctum!" (Seize the night) love the flip on the common Seize the Day motto
